You can indulge yourself once in a while with this kind of food, such as ice cream, cakes, refined foods, fatty foods, fatty meat, soft drinks high in sugar, alcoholic drinks.... I do not like to focus on what we should not eat. I found the more you focus on what you shouldnt eat the more you crave it. Better focus on what we should eat. Could I convince you to eat a salad a day? You will never be bored. There are so many possible combinations; you can easily have a different salad everyday of the month. A salad can both nourish your body and please your taste buds. It can be cold; it can be cold and warm. It is a garden in a plate, so colorful, so many flavors in a plate. You can just have a selection of your favorite lettuce leaves. You can add raw vegetables, some sprouts for the garnish, or a fruit. You can add a grilled breast of chicken, a broiled filet of salmon, or some cooked prawns to transform your salad into a meal. You could add edible flowers for a special effect, like flowers of chives or flowers of runner beans. You can sprinkle some flat parsley leaves, some nuts, or some almonds. But do you really need to spend this much money to have a nice wedding? This first thing that you need to think about is the wedding gown. You have a few options here. You could consider buying a second hand wedding dress. Look in your local newspaper for women that may be selling their wedding dresses. You could end up with a very expensive gown at half the price. Many people just pick up a house plant without giving any thought, especially if the cost is low. But think about this, every house plant you purchase can give you years of enjoyment if it is properly inspected before you buy. Take time to choose a perfect house plant. If you hastily buy a house plant, it has the potential of causing devastation to your other house plants. And one rule to always abide by is never buy plants when you are in a hurry, thats a gardening tip everyone should heed. Take the time to inspect the leaves on the house plant for pests. Aphids, spider mites and scale will not only wreck havoc on this house plant but on your others as well. And be sure to look under the leaves and at the nodes where many pests thrive. Here is what to look for on your potential house plant: Aphids appear as small green or black insects, usually found on buds and new growth. These insects suck the juices out of house plants, and also secrete honeydew. Spider mites are small insects, which appear as small white specks, usually on the undersides of leaves, or on flowers of the house plant. Spider mites will form webbing, like a spider's web around infected house plants. The spider mites will be visible in the webbing as white specks. Scale looks like tiny, brown, oval-shaped bumps visible on the house plants leaves and stem. The scale is actually a protective covering which protects the insect. Scales produce honeydew, a clear sticky substance which can be seen on affected house plants. You may want to search the internet for other gardening tips on how to treat these pests if one happens to infect some of your house plants. If the house plant seems too big for the container, pass it by, it is likely to be root bound. Remember bigger isnt necessarily better. I always pull a house plant from its container to check the root ball; reputable stores should allow you to do this. If the house plant is already root bound you will have to open your wallet not only for the plant but for potting soil and a new container. Then YOU have to repot it and hope it will continue to be healthy. If you dont mind this, then by all means buy the house plant. If you are going to repot you may want to look at the self watering containers that are available now. These are great for someone that travels and isnt around everyday to check the soil. Examine the container of the house plant for cracks. Be sure the container will harmonize with your existing house plants containers. Try to purchase plants by shape and height when using the house plant for groupings in and around your home. Keep the small tag that is attached to the plant in a notebook so you will always have the directions on the plants needs. This is a really good gardening tip! Spiritual Practices Offer Peace and Acceptance
By Teresa Proudlove Facing career transitions and daily life challenges can leave us feeling lonely, stressed and anxious. How do we manage to deal with the financial and emotional stress of having a home, a car, work (or no work), kids and a spouse in this too-busy world? Spiritual practices can help us navigate through the turmoil of work and life transitions with more acceptance and peace. Below, I shall introduce three simple spiritual practices which can help us live life from a more supportive, comforting perspective. These practices can help us shift from habitually reacting to lifes problems, to walking a path of more peace and acceptance. However, before introducing these Spiritual Practices, we need to realize this is not about fixing ourselves! We Do Not Need Fixing Self-improvement and much of the network marketing industry bombards us with the ideas that if we fix or change our beliefs, attitudes, old wounds, thinking, goals, financial situation then we will be O.K. or a success. We are further burdened with blame and shame for supposedly having created our so-called lack or negative situation with our thinking, beliefs or unaddressed childhood hurts. These egocentric doctrines hurt us. Where is the room for Gods infinite plan, our souls work, indeed our lifework; within such narrow thinking? There is much at work, far beyond our control or our imagination, shaping our lives. At times, we are but frail dust swept within the winds of change. During these difficult times, like career changes and lifework challenges, we need compassion for our human condition not self-incriminating lectures. Paradoxically, there is an element of truth in the school of thought that our beliefs, thinking, attitudes and old hurts can affect our quality of life. Holding seemingly irreconcilable opposites like these at the same time, is part of our soul's journey. Clearly, though, our lives are not a problem to be fixed and we are not to blame for every life occurrence. Events occur because conditions are right, and your action only contributes to one of many conditions. Lieh-Tzu Often I hear people lamenting their lives; saying they should be further ahead in their careers, relationships, financial situation, and even in their self growth. Yet, creating change involves much more than decision-making and setting goals. We are planting the seeds which grow our being. Often we have to grow into the being which can make the changes we wish to have. Growing a being is the work of a lifetime not ten-easy-steps-to-a-new-you. This is why career change or any type of life transition can take much longer than we planned. The more time I spend on this planet, the more I realize how very little is really within my control and how rarely things work out according to my time line. More and more, I am aware of the hand of God orchestrating life, with us but players upon a great stage. Wherever we are right now, is exactly the place we are meant to be. Yes, we are OK right now. This doesnt mean we have to hopelessly accept harmful or unworkable situations in our life. However, there is a flow and timing to all things. Disdaining our lives and believing we can only be happy when we have the great career, lose fifteen pounds, find the right love, make more money does not facilitate change or happiness. It only creates more discontent. We can only experience peace and well-being now, in this moment. Spiritual Practices Offer Peace and Acceptance Following, is a brief outline of three spiritual practices using the acronym ABC, which can foster our sense of well-being and peace - now. At times, acronyms for learning can seem overly cute and annoying, however, I could not ignore something that was revealed to me in prayerful meditation. The first practice, A = Ask for Help, begins with calling upon our higher power for help. The second simple practice, B = Breathing Being, reminds us to return to our breathing, our bodies and our God. The last step in this trio, C = Call for Compassion, teaches us a kinder, more compassionate way of dealing with life, ourselves and others. Also, practicing these spiritual ABCs has shown me the value of using simple, easily remembered practices during stressful, angry or frustrated moments and dark days. May these spiritual precepts add goodness and peace to your life - as they have to mine. Spiritual ABCs A = Ask for Help * Ask God for Help: Please help me navigate through this. Anthropology Major Contemplates Joining a Think Tank

The first lawn mowers were rotating blades pushed along on wheels, massively reducing the time that it took to cut large lawns with a scythe. Today the lawn mower is an invaluable asset to a home or an estate or any groundskeeper - a machine that can cut down grass with one or two passes, to equal height, in a tiny fraction of the time it would take to do by shear or scythe. Lawn mowing is a typical part of suburban life and many people find it to be a relaxing and even therapeutic activity. There are even people who race ride on mowers, dispensing with the bags and blades, and turning the machines into speedy little racers with their own leagues and classes. Wooden Ship Models
By Jennifer Bailey Wooden ship models are built-to-scale representations of modern or ancient sea-faring vessels. Traditionally, all types of ship models have been built of wood, though with the advent of plastic and sheet metal, these have been used for amateur kits. Of course, wooden models project grandeur and finesse. The ancient Egyptians were the pioneers who made detailed ship models. The models were crafted as part of funeral rituals, which forced the builders to strive for precision, otherwise the unmitigated soul would pester them. The ship models kept inside the coffin were supposed to transport the soul of the deceased to the next world. Modern-day sea-faring received much instruction from these carefully preserved, 5,000- year-old models. Specimens of these boats found a place in the British Museum, the Louvre, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and many other museums worldwide. Modern-day ship models came into existence before or during the construction of many eighteenth- and nineteenth-century warships. These were known as Admiralty or Shipyard models. Many of these models did not show the timbering they would have in the actual vessel, but the models illustrated the form of the hull and details of the deck furnishings, masts, spars, and general frame. The models provided the non-sea-faring financiers with a birds-eye view of the vessel that was to come into being. There are several types of construction of a wooden ship model. Some are carved from a single block of wood, others by gluing together blocks of wood, or by gluing together of slabs of wood into a laminated block. Others are built on what is called plank-on frame, built just as the full-size ship is constructed. Ingrown Pubic Hair � Get Rid Of It Now!

The ancient Greeks, Egyptians and Indians preferred this look, and perfected ways to accomplish it. They also knew how to deal with ingrown pubic hair, so let's look at some tried and trusted ways to take care of this problem. What is an ingrown pubic hair? An ingrown pubic hair is one that grows at an abnormal angle and turns back into the skin, causing the formation of a pustule or papule (A small, solid inflammatory elevation of the skin that may or may not contain pus. Also commonly known as razor bumps). This is unsightly and an unwanted side-effect to the bald look. How do you get it? There are many ways, but the most common way is to shave with a razor in the opposite direction of the natural hair growth. The pubic hair can also be trapped beneath the skin from blockages to the hair follicle (also caused by shaving in many cases). Also the other hair removal methods such as shaving, waxing, tweezing, electrolysis, often irritate the hair follicle, and the hair becomes trapped beneath the skin. What do I do now? There are many ways to treat it. The best way, as in all medicine, is prevention. In Part 2 of this series we explain how to prevent ingrown pubic hair, but now you need first aid. So here are the proven methods, some taken from the ancient Greeks and Egyptians who had the same problem 3000 years ago. Understanding that the body will try to eliminate the ingrown pubic hair itself, help it along. Go to a sauna, and when you have built up a good sweat, lightly scrub (meaning exfoliate, i.e. take off the dead skin) with a loofa. A loofa is a marine plant that grows in the Nile, and resembles a coarse sponge. You can find it at any store that sells bath products. After the sauna, and scrubbing, the ingrown hair may be free (due also to the dilation of the pores while in a sauna), and have a sterilized tweezers ready (the ancient method). Pluck them out! One by one. You must stretch the skin tightly, grips the hair close to the root, and pull it out. Ouch! But it works. After each pluck, dab on some antiseptic solution. If the above is not suitable for you, then you can do a three times a day compress on the affected area with a wash cloth soaked hot water (not too hot!), followed by the application of any product containing salicylic acid. Salicylic acid is a strong exfoliating chemical that is useful to free such hair. Ask your pharmacist to recommend such a product. There are many on the market. The daily use of the compress will help the body fix the problem, but also, you can apply some baby oil mixed with Aloe Vera lotion (make it yourself). This will keep the skin from becoming further irritated, and the Aloe Vera is a natural antiseptic which will help prevent infection at the affected site. Of course, there are salon specialists, but their methods will be expensive, and no more effective than the above. You can also see your doctor, as in everything of this nature, the ingrown hair may not be a simple problem. The Path to Dating Success - A Wake-up Call

Many will just want a Twinkie surface solution of another pick-up line when they're nowhere close to gaining her interest. In other words, your business card is much more than just a piece of paper with your name, address and phone number printed on it. It is a powerful sales tool. And it should be designed with that purpose in mind. What can a business card do for your business? Before asking the inevitable questions about the design of your business card, you should ask what its function in your overall marketing plan is supposed to be. A properly designed business card has at least four important marketing functions. Here they are: 1. Your business card helps you to introduce your company.

Be Consistent with your Corporate Image Finally, make your business card marketing consistent with your corporate image and the rest of your marketing materials. Usually this boils down to basic things like your choice of colors, typeface, and layout style. And of course you will want to include your company logo. Usually your marketing consultant or graphic designer will want to plaster your logo on all your marketing materials, using the logo as a substitute for real marketing design. "We must convey a consistent corporate image" is the usual mantra. What ever you do, don't ask "Why?" That question opens the way for tedious theorizing about "the long term importance of developing a corporate image." You would be better to agree. "Yes, by all means, we want to present a consistent corporate image." And then add, "But I want this card to do some selling for me, so I would like to give the sales message a bit more prominence than usual." In other words, use the usual corporate colors, typeface and layout style. Include the logo too. But give prominence to the sales message. Show a picture of your product. Or if you think you are the product (as most real estate agents seem to think), then include your own picture. statement of what your company is about. It is the answer to the question: "What does your company
do?" Sometimes this kind of answer is called an "elevator speech". You're on an elevator and somebody asks you "What does your company do?" You have six or seven seconds to give a memorable reply. Good elevator speeches go beyond hackneyed answers like "We do web marketing" or "We make bowling balls." They are confidence-inspiring marketing statements: "We create websites that sell tons of products for people." or "We make the world's most beautiful bowling balls." Your MISM (Most Important Sales Message) will often be a "product" (as in the bowling ball example above), but it should always be accompanied by a "pitch" of some kind or another. Often this will be what we usually think of as a slogan. For your elevator speech you need a seven second slogan. For your business card you will need the same slogan in four or five words at the most. It must be boiled down to an string of words that not only sounds good, but looks good on the card: "Websites that Sell Like Crazy", "The World's Most Beautiful Bowling Balls", "The Discount Real Estate Guy", "The Source for Cottages and Summer Homes", "Beautiful Color Vinyl Banners." 4. Be Consistent with your Corporate Image Finally, make your business card marketing consistent with your corporate image and the rest of your marketing materials. Usually this boils down to basic things like your choice of colors, typeface, and layout style. And of course you will want to include your company logo. Usually your marketing consultant or graphic designer will want to plaster your logo on all your marketing materials, using the logo as a substitute for real marketing design. "We must convey a consistent corporate image" is the usual mantra. What ever you do, don't ask "Why?" That question opens the way for tedious theorizing about "the long term importance of developing a corporate image." You would be better to agree. "Yes, by all means, we want to present a consistent corporate image." And then add, "But I want this card to do some selling for me, so I would like to give the sales message a bit more prominence than usual." In other words, use the usual corporate colors, typeface and layout style. Include the logo too. But give prominence to the sales message. Show a picture of your product. Or if you think you are the product (as most real estate agents seem to think), then include your own picture. Relationships: Love And Jealousy
By Nick Arrizza, M.D. There are individuals who use their feelings of jealousy to rate how much they love their partner or how much they are loved by their partner. They believe, for instance, that if Im feeling jealous that others are paying too much attention to my partner then thats a sign of how much I love him/her. Alternately they may believe that if I make my partner jealous through my friendships with others that its a sign of how much my partner loves me. In the former case the feelings of jealousy simply reflect deep feelings of insecurity that have nothing to do with love. If your partner is being dishonest and this is obvious to you a more appropriate reaction might be to acknowledge this as a form of abuse and that this relationship is not worth entertaining further. In which case you should not feel jealous, rather relieved that you recognized it before you became further wounded. In the latter case if you are intentionally trying to make you partner jealous to see how much he/she loves you then this too is coming from a place of deep insecurity, yours! In this case it is you who is being abusive and if this is your way of showing your love who do you expect would love you back for it, no one! On the other hand if your partner is the jealous type and your friendships are not intended to make him/her jealous then he/she has the problem around insecurity and you the problem of deciding how much further to proceed in this relationship. Antidepressants and Weight Gain

Perhaps the most commonly prescribed antidepressants in the world are the SSRIS - the Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRIs) This includes Celaxa, Prozac, Luvox, Paxil and Zoloft. Initially these drugs were marketed as weight loss aids until it was realized that after a week or so of initial weight loss that the body would start steadily gaining weight. The average weight gain that is expected after taking these drugs is fifteen to twenty pounds. Of them all, Paxil is thought to cause the most unexplained weight gain. However the weight gain caused by SSRIs is peanuts considered to the pounds you can acquire by taking a tricyclic antidepressant. These include drugs such as Elavil, Asendin, Anofril, Petrofrane, Aventyl, Vivactil and Sinequan. If you take any of these drugs, which are prescribed for pain and sleep disorders as well as depression your physician will usually warn you that you can expect to gain at least twenty pounds during a course of treatment. Another antidepressant that can cause weight gain but is not classified in either group is Mitrazapine. This drug has also been associated with significant weight gain. Wellbutrin, Nova Trazadone and Effexor which are not classified as SSRIs are among the antidepressants that can cause either extreme weight loss or weight gain. So if you take any of these you take your chances as to which direction your metabolism is going to swing - faster or slower. To avoid the weight gain, lack of motivation to exercise and food cravings that both these types of antidepressants can cause your best course of action is to avoid taking them altogether.
